... just nod if you can see this... is there anyone home?
Just curious if anyone still reads Livejournal or not. I'm still getting the occasional hit from here to my photoblog at DreamlandVisions.com so I thought I'd do a shout out to see who's here.
I miss the long, oftentimes contentious, but always fun and informative debates and discussions that used to happen here. Facebook's enforced focus on shallow trivia and bullshit memes saddens me and makes me long for the days of fidonet, Compuserve and usenet.
So speak up if you're still here.
... just nod if you can see this... is there anyone home?
Just nod if you can hear me!
It appears the cross-post plugin between my blog and livejournal is broken. I've posted several new photos from last week's shoot with Hardluck Joesephine and Mistress Fire. Go see them here: Dreamland Visions.
I found myself in a creative mindset tonight and decided to experiment a bit with B&W images. I went back to a set of Jess & Swan Song from June and either did a new treatment of one of the shots I've already published or picked out new images from that set to play with. I think you'll like the results.
(edit: fixed cross-post to Livejournal )
But, what’s a review without pictures. This is what you missed if you weren’t there tonight:
This last July 4th weekend was a very fun and productive weekend. See a bunch of us got together and decided to celebrate 4th of July by exercising our 1st Amendment rights. We also were testing and experimenting with formats for future group shoots (both photo and video) for the Atlanta Fetish Video Exchange shoots coming up.
Models for the weekend were Lady J, Lady Cobalt, Lady Cobalt’s stage-nameless-man. Photogs were me, Lee, Gonzo, and JP. Much fun was had by all and as you’ll see from the shots below, some really incredible art was produced. Not bad for just messing around with sets and lights and models. Oh, and the shots with the two Ladies in the shower together were done with 2 photogs and two videogs all squeezeing into the same bathroom. As you can see, if everyone cooperates, even paparazzi photography can work.
Without further ado, the ladies:
And behind the cut is proof of what happens when you hand two lovely women a bottle of chocolate syrup or marshmellow cream then stick them in the shower. Oh, and then how one of them prefers to get cleaned up. (NSFW, but you knew that)
I have a Google+ account now. Not too happy with the TOS with respect to my photography. Handing Google rights to do anything with everything I post there for all time is not something I’m really all that comfortable with. I am not even close to what you’d call an Intellectual Property zealot, but damnit, I do want some control over what happens to my works. If you want to do something with it, ask. Chances are, I’ll say yes.
I’ll post more about my fun with it in the future. So far I do like the interface and it is not nearly as cluttered as Facebook. Competition’s great. Better products are even better.
Since this is a photography blog, here’s some eye candy for you!
I had a splendid time working with a new model today. We spent some time shooting pinup shots and firearm shots and some pinup-firearm shots. Many more shoots to come in the future from this lovely young lady. She was a pleasure to work with. Now on with the show!
The human body is one of the most beautiful works of art nature has ever produced. In all of it’s shapes, sizes, colors, ages, genders and conditions, it is beautiful. One of the things the more obscene things this culture has perpetrated is the idea that the human body, any part of the human body, is dirty or ugly or shameful. Nothing could ever be further from Truth.
I strive to put lie to that idea in all of my work. My models are, by and large, not professional models. None of them are what you would call traditional fashion model body types. I photograph young lithe women in the very early flowering if their adult hood and I photograph middle aged mothers who have lived a long and hard live in their bodies with the scars to show for it. I photograph large women and well built men. I photograph professionals and house wives and students.
What all of these people have in common is a desire to see themselves as beautiful, as sexy or desirable, and as others see them. I have, I think, succeeded in that.
A few months ago I made this post followed by this post about a project inspired by this post over on The Beautiful Kind. Since then there have been a number of other sex positive blogs coming up with their own projects. One of the blogs that has inspired me to make this post is Molly’s Daily Kiss with her “Pretty In Pink” post and the “Pussy Pride” project. I do not have a pussy of my own (looks down, checks, yep.. still got a penis) but I can contribute in my own way. I may not have labia, but I do have a camera.
The very concept of labiaplasty or other forms of genital modification, solely for the purpose of meeting some kind of airbrushed, censored ideals is anathema to me. It borders on the obscene. Go look over those posts for a more in depth discussion about this issue.
What I want to do with this post is to show the great diversity of and the sheer beauty of the female genitalia. Life itself enters the world through these lips and we dare call them obscene or shameful? Not in my house and not in my studio, and maybe one day, not in my world.
Follow through the cut for the first few photos I have taken for this project. I shouldn’t have to, but will say it: The following is NOT SAFE FOR WORK. Detailed and close photos of female genitalia in all their glory lies beyond the ‘more’ tag. Venture forth if you will.
What started as an evening of test shots and a few planned shots for a compositing project I’m working on ended up being almost 3 hours of fun playful shooting.
Jessica’s good friend Swan Song dropped by with her costumes and ideas.
You can see the quick edits and selections here. Below are a few from the set.
Photos behind the cut are NSFW. Enjoy.
I spent today among some great friends and incredibly beautiful and talented people at Colab today. AFPME organized a group shoot at Colab today. It was a fun, creative and somewhat adventurous 6 hours.
Here’s a sample of some of the photos I took.

Model: The Lady J
I had the pleasure of shooting the lovely Mistress Sabila and her boy, BJ last night. We started with a bit of shibari on him and moved on to her doing aweful/wonderful things to him. Then, in an incredible bit of bravery for her, a full nude shoot of Mistress Sabila herself.
The full set can be seen here. Enjoy.
A couple more NSFW shots behind the cut.
